The General and The Monk

June 1, 2020

Once upon a time, there was a fierce General who went on a rampage, killing monks. Everyone was terrified and fled – except one Monk. This infuriated the General who climbed on his horse and angrily rode through the country to face the Monk. The General stopped his horse right in front of the Monk who was calmly waiting in the middle of the monastery’s courtyard. The General unsheathed his sword and shouted: “Do you know who I am? With one blow of my sword I can slice you in half without blinking!” The Monk responded calmly: “Do you know who I am? I am the one who can stand before you and, without blinking, be sliced in half with a blow of your sword.”
